Throughout 2017 Cathy is attempting to run a total of 1000km in support of two charities, and we are honoured that one of those she has chosen is The Sue Moreton Foundation.

Just to put things in perspective, 1000km is almost 24 marathons – an awe-inspiring challenge and one which we think deserves everyone’s support!

Cathy writes:

As caravan neighbours go, the Moreton family are surely some of the best around, so as soon as I heard about The Sue Moreton Foundation and the wonderful work it is doing in her memory, I knew I wanted to contribute. This is where my running challenge comes in.

Throughout 2017, I have set myself the goal of running over 23 marathons – a total of 1000km. I’ve run many of those kilometres around Trearddur Bay and my home in Manchester, and I’ve also racked up some distance whilst travelling and working abroad in Germany, France, and Italy. Averaging 3km a day might sound an easy task but when faced with grey skies and ominous clouds, the decision to lace up and get running isn’t always so inviting!

I’m at the 850km mark now and am so grateful that people have sponsored me, with donations being shared equally between TSMF and The East Cheshire Hospice, a local hospice which has cared for some of my family members so brilliantly in their final days.

With the British renowned for their generosity, it’s no surprise that so many people have been kind enough to support my challenge by donating to these two incredibly deserving charities. Hopefully my final 150km keeps drumming up donations which I know will go a long way to helping others.
